Support for The Youngest Patients
The members of the Lubomirski family have been conducting charitable activities for many generations. The organization of big balls at the Wiśnicz castle, during which money for charitable activities is raised, refers to tradition. The first ball took place on the initiative of the Founder Stanisław Lubomirski-Lanckoroński in 2000. Income from the ball amounted to PLN 130 thousand. The entire amount was donated to the Polish Association of the Knights of Malta of the Sovereign Order of Hospitallers of Saint John of Jerusalem. It is a charity organization with branches throughout the whole world. The Founder has been a member of the Order for many years. The organization donated the funds received for the building of the Centre of Early Diagnosis and Rehabilitation for Children with cerebral palsy in Wola Justowska – the district of Kraków.
The second ball took place in 2002. Income received amounted to PLN 500 thousand. It was used to the purchase of a CAT scanner for detecting cancers among the youngest patients. Modern equipment was handed over to the University Children’s Hospital in Prokocim – also the district of Kraków. The Founder belongs to the Honorary Committee of the Restoration of the Hospital encompassing many great personalities.
Many eminent people from the world of aristocracy, science, politics and business gathered at the balls. Apart from promoting pro-social conduct, the balls were an excellent advertisement for the Wiśnicz region. After all, the gift from the heart of the participants of these events turned out to be a success for the youngest patients and their families.
